On the afternoon of March 28, Li Meng, Vice Minister and member of Party Leadership Group at the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), led a delegation to Zhuzhou for an inspection of the city's advanced manufacturing sector. Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd. was the third stop on the inspection tour. The delegation included Lai Mingyong, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director General of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Department, Yang Weiguo, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhuzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Zhuzhou, and Dong Wei, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Tianyuan District, Zhuzhou, accompanied by General Manager Li Ping and Deputy General Manager Wang Shequan of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd.
Li Meng inspected the CNC blade plant and cutter plant of the company. At the blade plant, he observed the pressing, sintering and grinding procedures and watched the whole operation process of automatic manipulators for grinding. At the cutter plant. Wang Shequan gave Mr. Li a detailed introduction to the company's major project on 'top-grade CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment'. Through the project, the company has established a production line of 20 five-axis tool grinders, the first of its kind in China. Such a breakthrough means that China no longer needs to depend entirely on foreign manufacturers for top-grade special-purpose equipment. Mr. Li spoke highly of the company's proactive approach and contributions in this regard. After that, Mr. Li visited the product showroom in the R&D center where he learned about applications of the company's products in the manufacturing of automobiles, airplanes, heavy equipment and molds.
Deeply impressed by the company'sresearch findings and quality products, Li Meng wished the company greater success by giving full play to the initiative and creativity of R&D personnel, increasing the technology content of its products, and improving its core competitiveness.
