Kansas City, KS - The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas (UG) would like to alert the community of a donation scam being sent in form of a mailed letter on behalf of the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) and Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department (KCKFD).
It was brought to our attention that the letter was mailed to individuals requesting monetary donations. Please be advised that this letter is a complete scam, and that neither the KCKFD nor KCKPD are seeking any monetary donations.
A copy of the fraudulent letter and return envelope are listed below for your reference.
If you have received this fraudulent letter and have donated funds and fallen victim to this scam, please contact the KCKPD to file a police report. A report can be filed by phone, in-person or completed online. Complete information regarding filing a police report can be found at the link below.
