9/11/2019 - On 23rd opening of the Autumn Program at the Odeon
Enhancing, through the show, an archaeological site also favoring its use by tourists and disabled people, was the primary objective of the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation and of the Naxos-Taormina Archaeological Park. The Roman Odeon of Taormina is a suggestive, unique but for a long time forgotten corner, it becomes an alternative cultural space of about 200 places in the city and reappropriates its function, that of hosting theatrical and musical performances. In fact, the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation has been responsible for a large autumn program which, by favoring entertainment to the many tourists present, makes concrete, often evoked, the idea of seasonal adjustment. Niche and high-quality shows will be staged, realizing a concrete cultural and territorial promotion action, bringing the Roman theater of Taormina back to its former glory. Excellence in classical, jazz, theatrical and dance music has been focused, creating a program that involves various artistic genres in some September weekends and in all of October. The inauguration will take place on September 23rd and the calendar will continue until October 20th. To open the program of Autumn at the Odeon the Compagnia Nèon with the show Points of View by Monica Felloni.
