Single tracking alert: Service reduced in downtown SF on 3 Sundays for multiple projects (next work date 7/24)

BART will reduce service to one track through downtown San Francisco on three Sundays in July and August to provide a safe workspace for several projects. Service will be reduced from two tracks to one between the Montgomery Street and 16th Street/Mission stations in San Francisco on the following Sundays:

*July 24
*August 21
*August 28

Riders should expect delays of up to 10 minutes on these single-track Sundays. Riders should also be aware of timed transfers for some lines in San Francisco. From Montgomery Station, southbound Blue Line (Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City) riders headed toward Daly City will have to transfer across the platform to a Yellow Line (Antioch-SFO/Millbrae) train. Northbound riders between Daly City and Powell Street stations who are hoping to ride the Blue Line will have to catch the Yellow Line and then walk across the platform at Montgomery Station to catch a waiting Blue Line train.

When BART single tracks through San Francisco service is reduced from five to three lines with the cancellation of the Red (Richmond-Millbrae) and Green (Daly City-Berryessa/North San Jose) lines for the day. The latest information is in our trip planner on the official BART app and at BART.gov.

These three Sundays had already been reserved for the replacement of traction power cables in San Francisco but the completion of that work means BART can advance other projects. Workers will be installing new wall-mounted digital screens across the tracks from the Powell Street Station platform, performing initial work for the installation of fiber optic cables, and advancing preventative trackway maintenance.
