Campus was abuzz yesterday for the last of this year's Wildcat Days, and our events this week have us ready to welcome even more visitors, including a world-class pianist and a Nobel laureate.

Celebrate Latino Cinema

The 40th Chicago Latino Film Festival comes to Northwestern for two nights this week with free screenings of the documentary "Water for Life" and the drama "Allá, cartas al corazón," as well as talks by the films' directors.

Screenings are at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 18, in Lutkin Memorial Hall, 700 University Place, Evanston.

Paws for questions

Get your questions about living off campus answered while meeting service dogs, eating delicious food and playing games at Paws'N Pals, sponsored by Off-Campus Life, Student Organizations & Activities and NU Nights.

The event is at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, in the Northwestern Room in Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston.

Hear a classical music phenomenon

The Bienen School of Music welcomes pianist Stewart Goodyear to campus as part of the Gateways Music Festival, which connects and supports professional classical musicians of African descent and enlightens and inspires communities through the power of performance.

Goodyear performs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at Galvin Recital Hall, 70 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston. Buy tickets here.

Learn from a Nobel laureate

After surviving brutal actions by militants of the Islamic State group in 2014, Nadia Murad became a human rights activist, sharing her story to raise awareness about gender-based violence. The Nobel Peace Prize winner will share her story and insights as the final speaker for Northwestern's Global Engagement Summit.

Murad speaks at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, in McCormick Auditorium, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. RSVP here.

Go green with ASG

Come out to Deering Lawn on Earth Day for the ASG Sustainability Committee's annual Greenout Festival. The event will feature live music, food, thrifting, club activities and more.

The event starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, on Deering Lawn, 1937 Sheridan Road, Evanston.

Spend a day with the Northwestern community

Attend the Northwestern Alumni Association's annual "A Day with Northwestern," with talks from faculty and alumni on everything from medicine after the Human Genome Project to how to prepare for a curious life, not just a career.

"A Day with Northwestern" is on Saturday, April 20, at Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. See the full session schedule and register here.
