First regular season polls have Knights ranked No. 3

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--With most teams in the country now with regular season games under their belts, the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the Division 2 Sports Information Directors have released their first rankings of the 2019-20 regular season. The Bellarmine Knights, who have started the season 3-0, place third in both listings.

Northwest Missouri State, the defending national champion, is the consensus number one with Nova Southeastern just behind the Bearcats in both polls.

The Great Lakes Valley Conference is well-represented with Southern Indiana and Indianapolis both earning top 25 status in the NABC poll. Three more Midwest Region schools also rank in the top 25 in one or both polls with Ashland, Ferris State and Walsh all gaining recognition.

The Knights are back in action Wednesday night when they travel to St. Charles, Missouri to take on the Lindenwood Lions.
