The Disputed Minors Task Force met today at the Farnesina

One of the regular Disputed Minors Task Force meetings was held today at the Farnesina, the last before the summer break. The meeting was presided over by the Directorate General for Italians Abroad, and was attended by senior officials of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, once again, giving it a chance to clarify the situation on cases of minors abducted in Ukraine, many of whom have not yet been found. Other cases of international abduction were also examined for which certain synergic actions were planned among the administrations involved.

The disputed minor issue shows no signs of abating: in the first half of 2022, the Farnesina recorded 51 new cases (compared to 29 for the same period of 2021), of which 30 in Europe, 15 in America, 3 in Asia and 3 in the Mediterranean and Middle East.
