ACCC grants interim authorisation to 7-Eleven to commence participation in Velocity's loyalty program

The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to allow 7-Eleven to participate in Velocity's loyalty program as a retail partner and a potential redemption partner.

Interim authorisation will enable consumers to earn (and potentially redeem) Velocity points at 7-Eleven before the ACCC makes its final decision, which is expected in July 2021.

Interim authorisation commences immediately and remains in place until it is revoked or the date the ACCC's final determination comes into effect.

Interim authorisation protects the arrangements for which authorisation is sought from legal action under the relevant provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 while the ACCC considers and evaluates the merits of the substantive application for authorisation.

A copy of the ACCC's decision, including the reasons for granting interim authorisation, is available on the ACCC public register at: 7-Eleven Stores Pty Limited and Velocity Frequent Flyer Pty Ltd
