Community members are invited to join local elementary school students in Beacon Hill Park tomorrow to plant the first 20 of 200 trees that are part of the CN EcoConnexions Tree Planting program.
The trees species have been chosen to reflect our region, British Columbia, Canada and local First Nations. This program is sponsored by CN's EcoConnexions - From the Ground Up grant, Tree Canada and Canada 150.
To celebrate Earth Day 100 students from South Park School will also take part in a Beacon Hill Park Nature walk, involving learning stations about native plants and trees.
When: Friday April 21, 2017,
Where: Beacon Hill Park, just north of Goodacre Lake
Who: Join students from South Park School, City staff and our donors.
Parking: Event parking is available on Douglas Street, Arbutus Way and in Beacon Hill Park.
There are approximately 150,000 trees in our urban forest in Victoria. The City of Victoria manages 33,000 of these trees within its parks and boulevards.Go to Top
