PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis saw its three-game winning streak to open the season come to an end with a 7-0 loss to Drexel on Friday morning at the Hecht & Hamlin Tennis Center.
The Bison dropped to 3-1 overall, while the Dragons improved to 4-1 with four consecutive wins.
Bucknell picked up its lone win of the day at No. 1 doubles. Senior Lisa Jouravlevla and sophomore Paige Leavy defeated Ghita Benhadi and Kendra Bunch 6-3. It was the first loss of the spring for Benhadi and Bunch.
Jouravleva and Leavy improved to 3-1 in doubles, all on court one. The duo has won back-to-back matches.
'This is the best team we have faced so far,' Bucknell head coach Rebecca Helt said. 'I thought the matches were definitely better than the scores. We came away knowing exactly what we need to focus on for the next match.'
The Bison are back in action on Saturday when they take on Wagner. The match is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Northwood Racquet Club in Easton, Pennsylvania.
