Preparing for Library Legislative Day: Webinar Recording and Resources Available

Legislative Day will be held on Wed., April 24 at the Sheraton on Capitol Square in downtown Columbus. Steve Dackin, Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will be the keynote speaker at this year's event. He will talk about the shift to the Science of Reading in Ohio's schools and how public libraries fit into one of the state's top priorities - Literacy.

Legislative Day will also include a Property Tax Panel Discussion with Sen. Louis Blessing (R-Cincinnati), Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Property Tax Review and Reform and Chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee as well as Rep. Dan Troy (D-Willowick), Ranking Member House Ways and Means Committee and member of the Joint Committee on Property Tax Review and Reform. The complete agenda is available on the OLC website.

The OLC hosted a webinar on Friday, April 12 to help attendees prepare for this important advocacy event. Jay Smith, OLC's Director of Government and Legal Services, outlined key steps to take before Legislative Day. If you missed the live presentation, a recording will soon be posted below.
