The City of Simi Valley Announces the Extension of the Nomination Period for the Mayoral Seat for the November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election

CONTACT: Lucy Blanco
City Clerk
(805) 583-6813

The Mayoral incumbent has chosen not to file for re-election for the November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election; therefore, the nomination period is extended until Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. for that seat only to allow additional time for voters to nominate candidates other than the incumbent.

In order to be eligible to hold office as Mayor, an individual must be a registered voter, resident of Simi Valley, and otherwise qualified to vote for that office at the time that the nomination papers are issued to that person. The position of Mayor is elected Citywide for a term of two years and interested parties may reside in any of the four districts.

Nomination papers are available from the City Clerk through Wednesday, August 17 at 5:00 p.m. The City Clerk's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Persons interested in running for Mayor are encouraged to schedule an appointment to receive information and the nomination papers by calling the City Clerk's Office at (805) 583-6813.
