Rep. Ron Kind Helps Deliver Over $142 Million in Water Infrastructure Funding to Wisconsin for 2022

La Crosse, WI - Today, Rep. Ron Kind announced that Wisconsin is set to receive an investment of $142.7 million in water infrastructure funding for 2022 through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This funding will put Wisconsinites to work rebuilding our water infrastructure and help communities address PFAS contamination, replace lead service lines, and provide clean drinking water for all.

This is the first-year allotment of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for water infrastructure. Funding will be distributed to Wisconsin over the next five years through the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) State Revolving Funds (SRF) program.

"I'm thrilled to see this Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding headed out the door to help Wisconsinites," said Rep. Ron Kind. "No one should have to worry about whether or not their drinking water is safe, yet far too many communities across our state have been struggling with the effects of PFAS contamination and lead service lines. This investment to update our water infrastructure will help create jobs and ensure everyone has access to clean drinking water."

Rep. Kind voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on November 5, 2021 and the package was signed into law November 15, 2021. This legislation will provide Wisconsin with an estimated $5.2 billion to repair our highways, $225 million to replace and repair bridges, $100 million to expand broadband access to all Wisconsinites, $592 million for improved public transportation options, $198 million for infrastructure development for airports over the next five years, and more.
