**PUBLIC NOTICE**
We are transitioning to a different Electric Aggregation
Program. Please see below for further information:

Gallipolis is in the process of transitioning its electric aggregation program to become part of a council of governments that will leverage their combined purchasing power. SOPEC is currently composed of 18 other communities across Southeast Ohio including Rio Grande, Racine, Athens, Logan and Belpre. The new aggregation program will take effect in January pending final authorization by the city commission. In the meantime residents will default back to what is known as the standard service offer with AEP Ohio. No action is needed by residents already in the aggregation program- they will be automatically be enrolled in January, but can opt-out at any time with no penalty. Going to the standard service offer is saving residents money from last year's rate, and rates will drop again in January once the new aggregation program is activated. The gap in programing is due to filings required at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience, but are happy with the result since residents will be saving money and paying an even lower rate than the current standard service offer in January. Residents will receive a letter from AEP Energy who serves SOPEC communities with more specifics closer later this year. Once Gallipolis affirms its decision to join SOPEC, it will be part of a group of communities representing 80,000 Ohioans and the buying power that goes with it. Residents can learn more about SOPEC here: www.SOPEC-OH.gov
