Filing period open for places on Azle City Council

At the January 18, 2022 City Council meeting, Azle City Council called for a General Election on May 7, 2022 for the purpose of electing three (3) council members to Places 1, 2, and 5 for a two-year term expiring May 2024. Those interested in running for a place on the Azle City Council have from January 19 - February 18, 2022 to file for candidacy. Applicants have until 5 pm, Mon - Fri, to file in the City Secretary's office at Azle City Hall.Azle City Council members are elected at-large for two-year terms.

Also, a Special Election was called for May 7, 2022 to submit a proposition to the Azle voters on the question of the re-authorization of the local sales and use tax for an additional 10 years under the provisions of the Texas Tax Code at the rate of one-quarter of one percent (1/4%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets (Street Maintenance Sales Tax).
