Celebrating 40 Years of Jersey Fresh

The 40th season of Jersey Fresh was kicked off on April 30th, with a vibrant showcase of early season crops, signaling the beginning of another fruitful year for New Jersey agriculture. Among the diverse array of produce on display were asparagus, cilantro, parsley (both plain and curly), dandelion, kale, collards, spinach, radish, Swiss chard, leeks, mint, arugula, and more. New Jersey proudly held its position as a top 10 producer in the nation for several of these crops, underscoring the state's significance in the agricultural landscape. To mark this milestone, distinguished guests including NJDA Secretary of Agriculture Ed Wengryn, NJDA Assistant Secretary of Agriculture Joe Atchison III, as well as Cumberland County Commissioners Victoria Groetsch-Lods and Antonio Romero, convened for a time of brief remarks. Following the opening remarks, attendees had the opportunity to embark on a tour of the Consalo packing facility in Vineland, gaining insight into the behind-the-scenes processes that contributed to the success of Jersey Fresh.
