SNP & msg treorbis: SAP S/4HANA Transformation at Viridium

As part of their partnership, SNP and msg treorbis, leading independent SAP service companies in Germany with more than 8,000 employees worldwide, helped the customer succeed in an extraordinary transformation project.

The Challenge

The Viridium group where the project was carried out is a leading specialist for the efficient management of life insurance portfolios and one of the largest life insurance groups in Germany. The background of the project was Viridium's takeover of the former Generali Lebensversicherung and the associated real estate companies. In this context, accounting data had to be transferred to Viridium's SAP general and subsidiary ledgers. The particular challenge: It was a carve-out from one SAP S/4HANA system combined with a carve-in to another SAP S/4HANA system, each with a different version. As part of their partnership, SNP and msg treorbis rose to this challenge together.

The Solution

The implementation began by carving out the posting documents and posting items of the last two years from the Generali accounting system. In this way, a total of nine million posting documents with 44 million line items were transferred. Subsequently, the automated interface was put into production for a period of three years to ensure daily, continuous data transfer. The SNP team will continue to support the Viridium Group during this period. About 45,000 line items are transferred daily via this interface.

The go-live took place nine months after the project start on time and on budget, and the automated interface went live four weeks later. The factors that led to success in this complex project were the flexibility and adaptability of the SNP software CrystalBridge® - The Data Transformation Platform as well as the sophisticated business concepts and transformation methodology of msg treorbis. Another decisive factor was the outstanding joint collaboration between the two companies.

The Partnership

Based on proven cooperation in joint successful projects, SNP and msg treorbis concluded a strategic partnership agreement in 2020. The two companies recently extended the partnership to the entire msg group, therefore including all msg units in the partnership agreement. Together with its sister company msg Plauth in Austria, SNP has already ensured successful project execution and completion of several projects.
