Leaders from Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine and the Academic Practice Division gathered at a virtual ceremony to honor employees who won awards in a recognition awards event Oct. 14.

Hershey Medical Center President Deborah Berini and College of Medicine Interim Dean Dr. Kevin Black provided opening remarks.
Berini thanked the honorees and expressed her appreciation for how they make the Medical Center better every day by serving their teams, patients, families and the community. Dean Black said the winners stood out for their high achievements, exceptional leadership and for the way they consistently treat others.

Winner Sherrie Putt, patient escort service aide, Patient Transport, has been with the Hershey Medical Center for 33 years
"Sherrie's compassion for families shines through every day," her supervisor, Jon Deitrick, manager of Patient Transport, said. "She speaks to people with concern and respect. People like seeing her and talking with her. Her co-workers love working with her, this includes all staff, not just those in Transport. People know they can depend on Sherrie at all times."
