Executive VP Arcia Accepts Position with Rhode Island University

University of the Ozarks Executive Vice President Gloria Arcia, Ed.D., has been named the new executive vice president for finance and administration at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Arcia has served as executive vice president for finance and administration at U of O since Aug. 2023. She was the University's vice president for finance and administration from 2019 to 2023.

Her last day at Ozarks will be June 28.

"I am grateful beyond measure for my time at University of the Ozarks," Arcia said. "Serving this remarkable institution has been an unparalleled gift. Cherishing every memory made, I depart with a heart full of gratitude."

Arcia not only served as the University's chief financial officer, she led the administrative, finance, information technology, physical plant, auxiliary services and public safety areas. She also led the University's reaccreditation efforts with the Higher Learning Commission from 2021-23 and served as the incident commander and chair of the campus' Covid-19 response task force team from 2020 to 2021.

"Gloria has provided exemplary leadership across a wide array of finance, project management and operations responsibilities during her time at Ozarks," said U of O President Richard Dunsworth. "Her commitment to strengthening the employee experience, enhancing our physical plant and developing strategies that advance financial sustainability have greatly enriched our University and we appreciate the work she has done on behalf of Ozarks. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Arcia was a two-time finalist for the Arkansas Business CFO of the Year in Education award. Previously to joining Ozarks, she served Broward College in Pembroke Pines, Fla., as the college's dean of business affairs for its South Campus and Partnership Centers for two years. She also served as the assistant dean for business and finance at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., from 2014-17.

She has an associate's degree from Miami Dade College, a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from Florida International University and an MBA with a specialization in management from Barry University. She completed an Ed.D. in organizational leadership and learning with a specialization in human resource development from Barry University in 2022.
