The Carl H. Lindner College of Business held its annual student awards ceremony on April 10, celebrating the accomplishments of its students at every level.
Dean Marianne Lewis, PhD, opened the awards ceremony by highlighting the positivity and hope working with Lindner students brings.
"I will talk to people who truly bemoan our world and our future. And I'm sorry for them that they don't see what I see every day. Because I feel just the opposite," said Lewis. "Because I love our students. I'm so proud of you. And those of you being recognized today model the way for so many, and they remind all of us - faculty, staff and leaders - why we're here and why we love what we do. And I know this world is in good hands, because I see it."
Keith Sun, Karen Bennett Hoeb Director of Cooperative Education, Lindner Career Services, presented the awards for Outstanding Students in Co-op.
Honors were given for outstanding undergraduate students by academic area, outstanding students in co-op, special recognitions and outstanding students in master's programs by academic area. 2023-24 recipients of the Cintas PACE Leader Scholarship and undergraduate PACEsetters also were recognized.
Awards were presented by representatives from throughout the college, including
"Our awardees are students who absolutely excel academically, and they make the most of what we do so well here. We love the classroom, but we know you have to get out of the classroom," said Lewis. "Seeing students who have participated in or led student organizations, social fraternities, study abroad, service projects for our community, and co-ops and internships. It's putting those things together, knitting them together that really deepens expertise, builds confidence and grows a network."

After the awards presentation, Lewis returned to the podium to end the ceremony on a high note with a call-to-action to finish the semester strong and to remain an involved Bearcat post-graduation.
"We are nearing the end of the school year. There are only a few more weeks to graduation, stay focused. And, to those who will be graduating, we just wish you nothing but the greatest success and stay connected. Once a Bearcat always Bearcat. We are excited for you to be on the other side coming back as alumni in other ways. There are always opportunities to stay engaged and we value you very much to continue raising the bar."
