Bridge Replacement Project to Begin on Honeymoon Trail (Route 1017) in Lykens Township, Dauphin County

Two-week detour tentatively scheduled to begin April 12

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin next week on Honeymoon Trail (Route 1017) in Dauphin County. The bridge spans a tributary to Pine Creek between Coleman Church Road and Route 25 near Gratz Borough in Lykens Township.

Weather permitting, work on this project will begin Monday, April 1. There will be short-term closures under flagging, followed by a full two-week closure and detour, which is tentatively expected to begin Friday, April 12.

A detour will be in place using Route 25, North Center Street, Erdman Road and Fearnot Road.

This project consists of the replacement of the Honeymoon Trail structure, as well as minor approach work, guide rail updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Lobar Site Development Corporation of Dillsburg, PA, is the contractor on this $867,557 project.

All work on this contract is expected to be completed by June 3, 2024.
