Sulzer Mixpac receives EcoVadis award

EcoVadis is a global business sustainability ratings provider. The organization assesses and scores business operations across four categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. As well as benchmarking sustainability performance, the rating improves transparency for customers looking to align with businesses that are reducing their environmental impact.

David Cheshire, Plant Manager at Sulzer Mixpac UK's Hungerford site, welcomed the assessment result: 'I am delighted that we have achieved the EcoVadis Silver rating from our very first assessment. It's a great illustration of our commitment and that of our employees in becoming a more sustainable and environmentally friendly business. Whether it's our zero waste-to-landfill performance, our zero carbon energy supply to our factory, or our renewable packaging for products and sustainable design practices, we recognize the importance of improving our sustainability.'

The EcoVadis Silver Rating marks a further key milestone on Sulzer Mixpac's roadmap towards creating more sustainable, high-precision, delivery devices. The business has developed an award-winning collapsible two-component ecopaCC cartridge designed to reduce plastic waste by up to 82% compared to solid cartridges. The collapsible construction of the ecopaCC enables highly efficient packaging within four times less space when empty. As a result, logistical requirements and transport emissions are reduced.

Furthermore, Sulzer Mixpac recently received a CO2 inventory certificate from TÜV Nord. The certificate evaluated emissions sources across seven Sulzer Mixpac sites in Europe, the USA and China. This independent third-party certification ensures a transparent approach to reducing emissions and dovetails with our customer's own low carbon initiatives.
