Roy Lovelady to be sworn in as Ward 3 Council Member at special Saturday meeting

(COLUMBIA, MO)- Roy Lovelady will be sworn in as the new Ward 3 City Council member during a special Council meeting Saturday, Aug. 13, in the City Council Chambers, 701 E. Broadway. Current Ward 3 Council Member Karl Skala will also be presented with a gift, thanking him for his many years of service.

The special meeting will begin at 9 a.m. before the budget work session, which will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Council Member-elect Lovelady won a runoff election over the Ward 3 incumbent, Council Member Skala, Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Prior to the swearing-in ceremony, breakfast and beverages will be served, and residents will have the opportunity to interact with both Skala and Lovelady.

The breakfast, the special Council meeting and the budget work session will all be open to the public.
