Shareholder Communication Enhancement (SCE): Customer testing approach for ISO 20022 rollout for General Meetings

Further to Announcements C20019 and D21025 Clearstream Banking¹ is committed to assisting customers to prepare the activation of ISO 20022 for General Meetings (GM) on 22 November 2021.

Therefore, Clearstream Banking will offer customer tests during a dedicated test window from 25 October to 12 November 2021,the timeline will be divided into three weeks.

Customers willing to participate in the testing must register. The Test Registration Form, as well as practical information on testing including detailed Test Case Description, will be available by 22 September2021. The registration should be completed by 6 October 2021.

Customers subscribed to the Clearstream Enhanced Proxy Voting service with Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) in production and not planning to switch to the Clearstream Legacy GM Services are not required to participate in the connectivity and functional testing of the new Clearstream legacy message flow as the message exchange will stay with ISS.

Customers using a full outsourcing provider are requested to clarify with their provider if they want to participate in the testing for an account with their institution or not.

Customer Testing Approach

The aim of the customer testing of the ISO 20022 rollout for GM is to ensure connectivity and a functional GM message exchange in ISO 20022 format between Clearstream Banking and its customers and to test the new GM module in the Xact Web Portal, including download and upload functionality.

This customer testing will not provide detailed and production content within the test case messages. There is also no end-to-end test with depositories. Clearstream Banking will simulate the end-to-market messages flow with their domestic depositories separately.
