Temporary Closure of Clarksville Greenway for Inaugural Greenway 8K Race

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Clarksville Parks & Recreation has announced temporary closures to the Clarksville Greenway to ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants in the first-ever Greenway 8K Race.

The Clarksville Greenway trail between Heritage Park and Pollard Rd Trailheads will be closed on Sunday, April 21st, from 7 AM to Noon. Anyone not participating in the race who would like to use the Clarksville Greenway is advised to use the south trail beginning at Pollard Rd trailhead. Public parking will be available at Pollard Rd Trailhead.

Participants and spectators should be aware that parking at the Mary's Oak Trailhead parking lot and surrounding streets will be prohibited. Any vehicles parked in these areas will be subject to towing at the owner's expense. Parking for the event will be available at Heritage Park and Kenwood Elementary, Middle, and High School parking lots. Participants are required to walk from these parking lots to the Mary's Oak Trailhead for the start of the race.

The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department will be placing signs at the Clarksville Greenway on Thursday, April 18, to communicate these closures to the public.

For those who wish to support the runners, the Pollard Rd Trailhead is recommended as one of the prime viewing spots. Parking and restroom facilities are available in the area, and participants will be running through this location.

Race registration is closed and will not be available on the day of the race.

The event is made possible through the support of our partners, including 5 Star Radio, We Bring the Party DJ, Orangetheory Fitness leading the warm-up, and the Clarksville Running Club.

Food vendors will also be on-site at Mary's Oak Trailhead to provide refreshments for participants and spectators alike. Vendors include Bondi Bowls, Kadi's Tacos & More, and Lemonade Cuties.
