It is clear to every well-meaning person that it was a joke and that the Prime Minister, even if he had the power to do so, wouldn't even think of blocking or canceling any media, the Office of the Prime Minister pointed out regarding the allegation by Gradska TV that the Prime Minister wants to block that media.

The Office of the Prime Minister states that the freedom of the press is an unquestionable Western civilization value that the Government of Montenegro unreservedly cherishes and promotes.

We have witnessed that the editorial policy of this media is often prone to making controversial remarks bordering on hate speech, and which brutally label, spin and spread hatred predominantly against the Prime Minister, which ultimately results in frequent insults and threats to the Prime Minister Abazović's security, says the Prime Minister's Office.

A humorous remark about the editorial policy does not mean that we do not expect the media in Montenegro to be aware of their role in society and to be aware of the consequences of expressions that can often be qualified as hate speech. The Prime Minister and the Government of Montenegro will always support the principle of free and professional journalism, supporting the sustainability of the Montenegrin media. This will be confirmed in the coming days by presenting the proposals of the Media Strategy and set of media laws.
