John Beag Ó Flatharta in Concert at Strule Arts Centre

Published: 24th October 2017

Renowned Connemara singer John Beag Ó Flatharta will be appearing in concert at the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Friday 10 November at 8 pm.

While John Beag has extensive experience performing in venues across Ireland, England and the USA where he lived for many years, the performance at Strule Arts Centre will mark his first-ever appearance in Tyrone and his only Ulster show on his current Irish tour.

John Beag Ó Flatharta has created a niche for himself, singing country music in Irish and ballads in English with great success. He blends English ballads with the Connemara sean-nós and fuses songs composed in the Irish language with the rhythm found in American country music straight from the sidewalks of Nashville.

Supporting John Beag is Seán Mac Corraidh from Belfast. Seán is a traditional singer who has a wide repertoire of Ulster songs in both Irish and English and will be accompanied on the evening by two traditional musicians. This performance is supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council as part of the Council's Irish language programme. Tickets £5.00, book online at www.struleartscentre.co.uk or contact Box Office 028 8224 7831.
