Smith Announces 2024 Congressional Art Competition Winners

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today announced the winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for the Third District of Nebraska.

"I want to thank the students who participated this year's Congressional Art Competition and offer my congratulations to the winners," said Smith. "Alongside winning entries from across the United States and in my offices, your work will be a reminder of the rich talent we have in the Third District. Thank you to Nebraska's art educators who encourage students every day to develop their skills."

Artwork by the first-place winner will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. The runners-up will have their art displayed in Rep. Smith's Washington, D.C., Grand Island, Scottsbluff, and Nebraska City offices. Smith worked with the Nebraska Art Teachers Association to coordinate the competition.

First Place: "Old Love" by Alyson Adams of Orleans
Southern Valley Public Schools
Alyson's work will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Second Place: "A-Cross the Pond" by Brooklyn Santifer of Orleans
Southern Valley Public Schools
Brooklyn's work will be displayed in Smith's Washington, D.C. office.

Third Place: "Desert Flower" by Keeley Krohn of Kearney
Kearney Public Schools
Keeley's work will be displayed in Smith's Grand Island office.

Fourth Place: "Animals of Nebraska" by Jori McNeil of Litchfield
Litchfield Public Schools
Jori's work will be displayed in Smith's Scottsbluff office.

Fifth Place: "Liminal Space" by Shyloh Gavierez of Stanford
Southern Valley Public Schools
Shyloh's work will be displayed in Smith's Nebraska City office.

Honorable Mention: "A Stroll in the Woods" by Ida Gross of Litchfield
Litchfield Public Schools

Honorable Mention: "Reno" by Topanga Boyles of Litchfield
Litchfield Public Schools
