The qualifying stage of the Falconry competition has started at the combined arms training ground Prudboy of the Southern Military District near Volgograd

The qualifying stage of the Army International Games 2022 competition among the crews of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Falconry started at the combined arms training ground of the Southern Military District (SMD) Prudboy near Volgograd.

The competition is attended by crews of unmanned aircraft of the motorized rifle unit of SMD, stationed in the Volgograd region. In addition to passing tests on the theoretical part, specialists will perform practical flights of the Orlan and Eleron UAVs.

When performing competitive tasks, military personnel will fulfill the standards for the deployment of complexes and the launch of aircraft. The crews will work out the tasks of searching for both stationary and mobile objects in the established square of the terrain, and will transmit the coordinates to the control point.

The main task of the military personnel at the competition is to adjust the artillery fire. Crews will determine the deviation of the shells from the target and will give corrections to the artillery control point.

Also, UAV operators will demonstrate their skills in landing a drone for accuracy. To do this, military personnel will need to land aircraft in a given area within the landing site.
