DALLAS - Dallas ISD's first student-designed and operated food truck will debut by rolling out delicious meals to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. At 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy, students will showcase their creativity and culinary talent straight from the mobile kitchen. This event will mark the first time students operate the food truck, which was unveiled earlier this year. Student and staff interviews will be available upon request.

Dallas ISD middle school to receive $10,000 surprise
Sam Tasby Middle School will be announced as the winner of the Great Brain Gain Middle School Challenge, presented by the Center for BrainHealth. The school will be surprised with a $10,000 jumbo check to implement the school's plan to promote brain health during a schoolwide assembly featuring former Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. Media is invited to capture this event starting at 2:45 p.m., Friday, May 10.

Discovering the world through language: AAPI Month with Toni Garabete
Toni Garabete, a French teacher at J.L. Long Middle School, brings a rich tapestry of cultural experiences to his classroom with fluency in four languages. Born in Syria with a background that spans Lebanon, France, Armenia, and Venezuela, Garabete fosters an environment where students get to delve into worlds through language. Through engaging lessons, he celebrates diversity, highlighting the significance of multilingualism and the embrace of cultural heritage.
