Legislative Business

Executive Business
As a reminder, on November 4th, the Senate reached an agreement that at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, the Senate proceed to Executive Session to consider Calendar #491, Jonathan Kanter, of Maryland, to be an Assistant Attorney General, and that there be 10 minutes for debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.
Today
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration ofExecutive Calendar #401 Graham Scott Steele, of California, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Steele nomination and cloture on the Bonnie nomination (Agriculture).
Following the Bonnie cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
At 2:30pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Bonnie nomination. Following disposition of the Bonnie nomination, if no further agreement is reached, the Senate will vote on cloture on the Nelson nomination (Treasury).
During Monday's session, Senator Schumer filed cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #144, H.R.4350, National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. Unless an agreement is reached, this cloture vote is expected during Wednesday's session.
