Officers Arrest Package Theft Suspect in Mattapan

At about 4:56 PM, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan), arrested Robin Allen, 62, of Mattapan, on larceny charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of River Street to address the uptick in package thefts throughout the district. Officers observed a male suspect walk up the front stairs of 108 River Street, and immediately picked up two packages. The suspect then walked down the stairs with the packages, when he observed the officers and stopped moving.

Officers exited their cruiser and immediately placed the suspect into handcuffs. After further investigation, officers were able to determine that the suspect did not live at that location. Officers were later able to return the stolen packages to the rightful owner.

Allen was placed under arrest and charged with larceny from a building, and trespassing. He was arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
