CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The WV
Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Child Support
Enforcement (BCSE), today announced the implementation of a new interactive
online application to apply for services such as establishing paternity for
minor children, new child support and medical support orders, and enforcing
existing child support orders.
“We are pleased to offer a new way to apply for child support services,”
said Garrett Jacobs, Commissioner of DHHR’s Bureau for Child Support
Enforcement. “We continue to seek new
avenues for interacting and communicating with our existing customers and the
next generation of parents.”
One of the
parties must live in West Virginia for an application to be accepted. Either the party who has custody of the child
or the party that does not have custody child may complete the
application. To apply, go to http://www.dhhr.wv.gov/bcse/Pages/BCSE.aspx and select the “Application” tab located in the top ribbon of the
screen.
Birth
certificates or court documents can be easily uploaded during the online
application process. An email address is
required when completing the application or the application cannot be
processed. Once the online application
has been completed and submitted, the applicant will be sent a confirmation
email and the information contained in the application will be loaded into the
BCSE system. If additional information
is needed, the applicant will be contacted by a BCSE representative.
Applications
may still be completed in person at any county Department of Health and Human
Resources’ office. All services offered
by the BCSE are free of charge.
