Schaffhausen, 31 luglio 2019 - Nel 2019 IWC Schaffhausen ha presentato nuove edizioni rivisitate della sua nota linea Portofino. La collezione da donna si arricchisce di cinque modelli più piccoli, dotati di un innovativo sistema di sostituzione del cinturino, mentre alla linea da uomo si aggiungono sei nuovi modelli.

Sin dalla sua presentazione nel 1984, la famiglia Portofino è sempre stata una delle linee di maggior prestigio di IWC. La leggenda narra che l'allora capo orologiaio, il mitico Kurt Klaus, e il progettista capo Hanno Burtscher abbiano preso carta e penna davanti a un bicchiere di vino e disegnato un orologio semplice ed elegante, ispirato ai design arrotondati classici degli anni cinquanta e sessanta.

La linea, che prende il nome dal borgo ligure meta di vacanze per il jet set, era e rimane caratterizzata da uno spirito glamour e disinvolto. Gli orologi Portofino, perfetti per uomini e donne, per il giorno e per la sera, sono al contempo sobri e sofisticati. I loro elementi distintivi, come lo stile raffinato e il quadrante essenziale, sono ancor oggi molto amati dai consumatori.

I nuovi modelli Portofino da donna del 2019 sono tra i più piccoli dell'intera gamma IWC. I cinque modelli, di soli 34 millimetri di diametro, si rifanno alla primissima collezione Portofino, che comprendeva versioni di misura analoga per i polsi più piccoli, e sono disponibili con cassa in oro rosso 18 carati o in acciaio, con quadrante argenté, blu o verde, tutti con diamanti su cassa o quadrante.

Questa versatilità si estende anche all'ingegnoso design del cinturino che consente di adattare l'orologio al proprio look. Un piccolo strumento in dotazione ad ogni orologio consente di sostituire il cinturino con una delle dodici opzioni colorate a mano realizzate dalla pelletteria Santoni e disponibili in una serie di vivaci tonalità, a cui si aggiunge un bracciale in acciaio a maglia milanese.

'Con questi cinque nuovi modelli, ispirati alle origini della famiglia Portofino, volevamo proseguire la tradizione degli orologi da donna IWC degli anni '80, offrendo una misura particolarmente portabile per le donne. Un altro punto di forza è il nuovo sistema di sostituzione del cinturino che consente di modificare l'aspetto dell'orologio in un attimo, aggiungendo un elemento divertente e fashion.'

La linea Portofino da uomo è stata rinnovata anche quest'anno ed arricchita di sei nuovi modelli: il Portofino Automatic Moon Phase è il primo ad abbinare una cassa da 40mm di diametro alla complicazione fasi lunari, fino ad ora disponibile sono nei modelli da 37mm o 45mm. Questa nuova misura sarà disponibile in due varianti in acciaio: una con quadrante argenté, lancette ed elementi applicati dorati e cinturino in alligatore marrone, l'altro con quadrante blu, lancette ed elementi applicati rodiati e cinturino in alligatore nero.

I modelli del 2019 comprendono anche nuove versioni del Portofino Chronograph e del Portofino Automatic con quadranti blu. Entrambi sono disponibili in oro rosso 18 carati o acciaio con elementi applicati in oro, lancette dorate e cinturini in alligatore nero.

'Dal 1984, la linea Portofino rappresenta una delle nostre famiglie di orologi di maggior successo. Il fascino classico di questo orologio, con la sua cassa rotonda minimalista, i numeri romani e i semplici indici delle ore che caratterizzano la collezione, seduce sia gli uomini che le donne. Per questo motivo siamo lieti di ampliare la famiglia con undici nuovi accattivanti orologi' ha spiegato Knoop.

Tutte e cinque le nuove referenze Portofino da uomo sono ora disponibili in tutto il mondo. Le sei referenze da donna sono invece disponibili solo nelle boutique IWC e presso i rivenditori autorizzati IWC in Cina e Hong Kong e arriveranno nel resto del mondo nell'ottobre 2019.
