Clifford Chance advises Kallista Energy on its signing of a long-term power purchase agreement with Lhyfe for the production of green hydrogen

Clifford Chance has advised Kallista Energy on the negotiation and signing of a long-term power purchase agreement with Lhyfe, a global pioneer in the production of green and renewable hydrogen.

The emerging green hydrogen market provides sufficient visibility to establish one of the very first long-term electricity sales contracts in this sector, securing bank financing for Kallista Energy for the repowering of a wind farm. For Lhyfe, this 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement secures the energy supply for its future green hydrogen production sites.

The new Brachy wind farm will be home to 5 Vestas V126 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 15 MW. Due to come on stream in summer 2024, it will generate 46 GWh of renewable electricity a year. The entire output of the wind farm will be dedicated to Lhyfe's green and renewable hydrogen production sites, contributing to the decarbonisation of mobility and industry.

Clifford Chance also advised Kallista Energy on the analysis of the bankability of the Corporate Power Purchase Agreement, for bank financing of the wind farm repowering by Saar LB and BNP Paribas.

Clifford Chance a conseillé Kallista Energy dans le cadre de la négociation et de la signature d'un contrat de vente d'électricité à long-terme avec Lhyfe, l'un des pionniers mondiaux de la production d'hydrogène vert et renouvelable.

Le marché naissant de l'hydrogène vert donne ainsi une visibilité suffisante pour établir l'un des tous premiers contrats de vente d'électricité à long-terme dans ce secteur et ainsi sécuriser pour Kallista Energy le financement bancaire du renouvellement (repowering) d'un parc éolien. Pour Lhyfe, ce contrat de vente d'électricité (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement), d'une durée de 15 ans, sécurise l'approvisionnement énergétique de ses futurs sites de production d'hydrogène vert.

Le parc éolien renouvelé de Brachy accueillera 5 éoliennes Vestas V126, pour une puissance totale de 15 MW. Sa mise en service aura lieu à l'été 2024, il produira chaque année 46 GWh d'électricité renouvelable. L'intégralité de la production du parc sera dédiée aux sites de production d'hydrogène vert et renouvelable de Lhyfe pour contribuer à la décarbonation de la mobilité et de l'industrie.

Clifford Chance a également conseillé Kallista Energy dans le cadre de l'analyse de la bancabilité du Corporate Power Purchase Agreement, en vue du financement bancaire du renouvellement du parc éolien par Saar LB et BNP Paribas.
