The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei as part of his participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the United Arab Emirates.
The Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov expressed his gratitude for the invitation to a prestigious discussion platform of modern challenges for sustainable development. It was noted that the participation of the president of Azerbaijan and the meeting of the heads of state is a manifestation of high relations between our countries. It was emphasized that energy occupies an important place in cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, which gives strategic importance to relations. "Azerbaijan's main priority now is the generation of electricity and hydrogen from rich renewable energy sources, its integration into the country's energy system, as well as its transportation to more European markets and the establishment of the necessary infrastructure. Masdar is an important and trusted partner for us in the implementation of this multifaceted activity," the Minister added.
It was noted that consultations are being held on implementing the cooperation document signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary on the development and transmission of green energy, projects, and measures to ensure Azerbaijan is the source of the green energy corridor.
The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei spoke about the trend in the installation of renewable energy capacities in the world, the necessary factors for the development of this area and the goals of his country on green energy. Noting the importance of international cooperation in the field of green Energy, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei said they attach importance to energy cooperation with Azerbaijan in the context of brotherhood and expressed his country's support for the implementation of joint mega-projects.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on the latest situation in the international energy markets.
