6 Hours of Fuji: RaceOne-two home victory for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing

Akio Toyoda (Team Founder):

"Our home WEC race was held for the first time in three years and our GR010 HYBRID was able to drive at Fuji Speedway for the first time. Thank you to everyone who made such a strong effort to hold this event.

At Fuji Speedway, the fans were cheering us on, saying "Welcome back!" We are really glad that we were able to respond to that great support with a one-two finish, to say "We're home".

I would like to thank all the team members, including the Team Principal Kamui. Thank you all!

Earlier in the race week, the drivers told me, "We want to drive a car with hydrogen engine" and joined me to experience this.

"I believe that the sound and vibration of internal combustion engines must never be eliminated. In that sense, the vision presented by Mr. Morizo is wonderful. I'm really excited to see where this development will go in the future. In the future, I definitely want to race in a hydrogen engine racing car!"

Sébastien Buemi sent me these words after driving the hydrogen engine car.

Racing drivers have experienced a variety of cars and I would like to continue working with them to create technologies that keep them excited.

Drivers, let's enjoy "sound and vibration of internal combustions engines" together again!"

Postscript
Congratulations to Norihiko Katsuta and Kimura for winning Rally Hokkaido.

I heard that you were able to drive a car that was difficult to drive with some ingenuity.
I heard that our members also learned a lot through that.

As always, I am grateful to Mr. Nori
Thank you very much for this time!

Postscript 2
I saw everyone in Greece had a tough fight. I feel sorry for Elfyn and Esapekka for their vehicle trouble.

With only three races left, let's reset and return to the way it went in the first half of the season, having a "car that is easy for drivers to drive" once again!

First of all, please look forward to Rally New Zealand in three weeks. After that, after Rally Spain, it is finally our first Rally Japan. Many fans are waiting to welcome the team back, just like at Fuji Speedway this week.

Let's do our best to be able to say "We're home" after more than a one-two finish!
Starting with Jari-Matti, I would like to thank everyone in the team!

Postscript 3
At the Nürburgring, our team is racing with the GR 86 and LC. Yesterday, they raced six hours and finished safely at the top of the class.

And right now, they are already running a six-hour race. I heard that the track surface is unstable due to the Nürburgring weather. Please put safety first and come back safely!

Postscript 4
Thank you to all the drivers who train the car on various roads around the world!

I would also like to thank the mechanics, engineers, and colleagues at the factory who are working with the drivers to make ever-better cars!

Let's continue to work together to make ever-better cars!"
