The museums of Jyväskylä will be celebrating the eventful weekend on 26-28 May. There are plenty of new things to see and experience for all ages!

The brand new Aalto2 museum center will open its doors to the public on Saturday, 27 May. The program includes, for example, Greetings from Tommi Lindh, CEO of the Alvar Aalto Foundation, and Heli-Maija Voutilainen, Jyväskylä's Museum Executive Director, and the introduction of the opening exhibition and permanent exhibitions. You can visit Aalto2 for free all day from 11:00 to 22:00.

In the Jyväskylä Art Museum, the summer's main exhibition Überhund - The Fascinating Dogs in Art will open on Friday, 26 May. The opening day to the public is held from 11:00 to 18:00, and in addition to getting familiar with the exhibition, it is also possible to paint a dog portrait yourself and take part in guided tours in the museum.

Saturday 27 May, admission to the art museum is free and the museum is open from 11:00 to 21:00.

The art museum's super weekend continues Sunday, 28 May, when the jazz trio Peltomaa Fraanje Perkola arrives. In the Jazz Jkl Live concert, old music, modal jazz, delicate improvisation, and band compositions are woven into a dreamlike and enchanting soundscape. The concert takes place at 18:00, tickets are 15/10€.

The Craft Museum of Finland also celebrates the Yläkaupungin Yö with extended opening hours and free admission. The museum is open on Saturday 27 May from 11:00 to 21:00, when it is possible to get to know the real cavalcade of classics at the summer's main exhibition Finnish icons of glass art, special musical instruments at the Kaikupohjia exhibition, and the new rough national costumes.
