Grant Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project to Begin April 2024
After almost 15 years of planning, design development and funding acquisition, improvements are being made to the Grant Avenue Bridge between 8th Street and Virginia Avenue. Work is anticipated to begin in early April and will continue through January 2025.
Benefits of this project include widened roadway access, safety improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists, new bridge railing and pavement as well as new signage and a street light system.
During construction, the pedestrian pathway will remain available as we understand the importance of maintaining pedestrian access to and from downtown Novato. However, vehicular traffic will be impacted by construction, and detours will be in place as needed. Work is permitted to occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm. We encourage you to use alternate routes during these times.
