Braas Named AVCA First-team All-American For Second-Consecutive Season

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced its 2020 Division III Men's Volleyball All-America teams, and Arcadia University senior middle blocker was named a first-team selection for the second-consecutive season. Braas, who became the program's first All-American selection in a season ago in 2019, was also named an AVCA All-East Region pick last week - the association's inaugural season selecting NCAA Division III all-region teams.

Braas was one of two All-American selections from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), joining Stevens' David Lehman.

Braas continued his dominant presence on the court during his senior campaign in 2020, leading the Knights in kills (178), points (220.5), and hitting percentage (.444) while ranking second in total blocks (65.0). The senior's .444 hitting percentage stood as the top mark in all of NCAA Division III at season's end, and paced the MAC for the second-consecutive season after posting the nation's top mark a season ago. The Lititz, Pa. native also ranked sixth in the MAC in kills, fourth in sets played, tied for fourth in total blocks, and sixth in points.

In his final season, Braas posted 178 kills opposite only 40 attack errors across 20 matches. Braas recorded five matches with double-figures in kills, while logging at least one block in all but two matches on the season. The senior graduates with 898 kills and a .406 hitting percentage in 113 matches to go along with 374.0 total blocks.
