DALLAS - A senior at the School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center will be surprised with $40,000 as a recipient of the prestigious Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship. Not only will this student receive a life-changing award, but they will also secure a paid internship opportunity at Amazon. This student is one of 400 recipients nationwide to receive this honor.

District expo offers internship opportunities for students
Dallas ISD is opening doors for its students' future by providing real-world experiences at the 2024 Internship Expo. This exciting event offers 500 high school students the chance to interview for a 100 paid internships with over 100 companies and organizations. This opportunity will allow students to gain hands-on experience and explore their interests. Media is invited to capture visuals and interviews at 11 a.m., Friday, April 12, at Hughes-Trigg Student Center (3140 Dyer St.).

Commit to surprise Dallas ISD teacher with $1,000 reward
After obtaining $25,000 for the Dallas County Economic Mobility Award from Commit, Dallas ISD is awarding $1,000 to 25 teachers across the district for their commitment to student success and economic mobility efforts. At 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 12, at David W. Carter High School, Commit will surprise one of these teachers in their classroom and present a $1,000 jumbo check.

Student volunteers pledge to Keep Dallas Beautiful
Dallas ISD's Career Institute South is partnering with Keep Dallas Beautiful to give back to the community and teach students about the importance of city beautification. As part of the Adopt-A-Spot program, student volunteers will regularly clean and maintain a designated area of Village Fair Drive, located near the school. Join us at 10 a.m., Friday, April 12, at Career Institute South to unveil the new Adopt-A-Spot sign recognizing students' commitment to keeping Dallas clean.
