Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK Attended the 16th Together Day Commemorative Ceremony Organized by the Ministry of Justice of the ROK

On 19 May 2023, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, attended the 16th Together Day Commemorative Ceremony at Gwacheon Citizen Hall, organized by the Ministry of Justice of the ROK under the theme 'Empathy and Respect'. The purpose of the ceremony is to create a society where South Korean nationals and foreign nationals in the ROK live in harmony and respect each other's culture and traditions.

During the ceremony, Mr. Han Dong Hoon, Minister of Justice and chair of the ceremony, delivered the opening remarks in relation to the ROK's key immigration policies which are tailoring immigration policy to match local needs, establishing the stringent and principled regulations, creating a safe and orderly society through the reliable border management, enhancing foreign nationals to comply with social norms, creating an environment that facilitates foreign national's integration and upholds the human rights, ensuring that migrant children have access to education, and strengthening the international cooperation to tackle refugees issues.

Apart from this, highlights of the ceremony also included the presentation of government awards to those who have continuously been working to support the foreign nationals' integration to the South Korean society, and cultural performance show from multinational groups. The ceremony well reflected the efforts of the ROK's government in strengthening the multiculturalism in the South Korean society.
