Statement from HUD on the 29th Anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing

WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development issued the following statement on the 29th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing:

"No matter how many years pass, we will never forget the lives lost in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. That horrific day, 168 souls were taken, including 19 children and 35 employees of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

"As we commemorate the 29th anniversary of this tragedy, let's honor them, as well as the heroism of the first responders and members of the community who took action and saved lives. Their memory lives on in their families, friends, and all who remember their contributions to our agency and this nation.

"We will continue to honor them through our work, our commitment to HUD's mission, and our service to the people of America."
