Fatal Collision- Jackson St/Grand St

HAYWARD, Calif., On Monday 04/01/2024,at approximately 6:04 p.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near the intersection of Jackson St and Grand St.

Officers arrived and locatedboth motorists still on scene.

The driver, a 55-year-old adult male and non-Hayward resident did not sustain any injuries as a result ofthe collision.

The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old male and non-Hayward, was locatedunresponsive and suffering from injuries related to the collision. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

The identities of both motorists are being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner's Office.

Drugs and/or alcohol have not been ruled out as a factor in this collision.
