Update on Crocus City Hall attack in Moscow and Mexico's consular response

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Mexican Embassy in Russia, provides this update on the March 22 attack in which a group of terrorists broke into the Crocus City Hall music venue in the Moscow suburbs. According to authorities, more than 130 people have died and a hundred remain hospitalized.

The Mexican Embassy in Russia immediately made its emergency number available for any Mexicans requiring consular assistance or protection and investigated if there were any Mexican nationals among those killed or injured in the attack. From the information collected and the lists of victims that have been made public, it has been confirmed that no Mexican nationals were involved.

The Foreign Ministry, through the embassy in Russia and the Directorate General for Consular Protection and Strategic Planning, will continue to monitor the situation in order to provide assistance to any Mexican in need of it.
