Official Visit of the President of Slovenia to Greece

From 8 to 10 April 2024 the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, met in Greece with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The official visit was an opportunity to further strengthen the already excellent cooperation between the two countries and to exchange views on current foreign policy issues. Slovenian President was a keynote speaker at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum opening ceremony.

From 8 to 10 April 2024 the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, met in Athens with the President of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The official visit was an opportunity to further strengthen the already excellent cooperation between the two countries and to exchange views on current bilateral, European and other foreign policy issues, with the focus on the Western Balkans EU accession path. On the occasion, the President of the Republic of Slovenia was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Redeemer, the highest distinction awarded to Heads of State for their contribution towards strengthening bilateral relations.

Slovenian and Greek Presidents were guests of honour at the closing event of the internationally renowned exhibition Noimata/Meanings in the Acropolis Museum on the invitation by the Director General of the Museum Mr Nikolaos Stampolidis.

On the second day of the visit, the Slovenian President met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis and the President of the Slovenian-Greek Friendship Parliamentarian Group Mr Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos.

In Delphi, the Slovenian President was a keynote speaker at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum opening ceremony, together with the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović and President of Ukraine Volodomyr Zelensky (remote). In Delphi she delivered a speech on the importance to invest in indivisible peace and human dignity for all.

The official visit was accompanied by a rich cultural program.
