The second day of the working visit of Economics Minister Franz Fayot to Japan took place in Tokyo to first celebrate the 10th anniversary of Paul Wurth IHI's existence in Japan. In November 2012, Paul Wurth joined forces with IHI to establish Paul Wurth IHI Co, Ltd, a 50/50 joint venture in the field of advanced iron and coke manufacturing technology. Today, the company employs about 100 people.

Afterwards, Franz Fayot and representatives of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) had a meeting at the Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA) with its President, Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa. The two space agencies identified opportunities for cooperation in the field of space resources, in particular in the framework of the activities of ESRIC, the European Space Resources Innovation Center.

To conclude, The Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot met with Shinichi Naktatani, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Together they discussed potential areas for strengthening collaboration between Japan and Luxembourg, notably in space, research and finance. Luxembourg's participation in the World Expo in Osaka in 2025 was also brought up.
