Did you know that Delivery Hero doesn't only deliver meals, groceries, and household products to customers' homes quickly; it also has its own coffee brand that spices up people's lives around the globe: Everyday Roastery. Launched in 2020, Everyday Roastery's delicious taste, sleek design, and monochrome palette aims to deliver the convenience and quality of a local coffee shop directly to the customer's doorstep. Read on to find out more about how Delivery Hero got into designing its in-house coffee brand and what makes Everyday Roastery special.

2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed worldwide every day - that's over 26,000 per second. From Buenos Aires to Stockholm, from Seoul to Dubai, customers need their caffeine kick, and platforms like Delivery Hero have seen a significant increase in coffee orders: In fact, nowadays, coffee is one of the most ordered items in many of our countries, such as Greece. With the advancements in quick commerce, the convenience of consumption of a fresh brew is on the rise and these numbers are only bound to increase. In order to have our customers' favorite coffee drinks available at any time and meet their ever-growing demand, we at Delivery Hero started to look into building our own coffee brand in 2020: Everyday Roastery.

Bringing an idea to life
Everyday Roastery is a coffee brand that is seamlessly integrated into Delivery Hero's Dmarts (local retail and distribution centers). It offers a variety of beverages and snacks, from frappés to cinnamon rolls, teas, and cakes. When customers order via their app, they can select these treats in the same order process together with whatever they need - groceries, household products, and so on.

Currently, Everyday Roastery is available in Dmarts across Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia already, and there are plans to expand the operations further. The first steps into the European market segment will soon be taken in Hungary and Germany.
Additionally, to fuel the brand's innovation capability and perfect the delivery experience an R&D hub was built in Berlin.
Everyday Roastery's unique personality and premium quality coffee have made it one of the first choices of coffee for many customers already.

In order to launch a coffee brand, the team kicked off comprehensive global customer research to find out what people appreciate about a coffee brand, and what they are missing in the market right now. In ten countries, over 2,000 participants joined the study. Based on the results, Delivery Hero's Brand team came up with the concept and visual identity of the global brand Everyday Roastery.

Researching and establishing a brand: How to think and act like a barista
Of course, a successful coffee brand is not built overnight. Led by Dr. Mustafa Sayin, Senior Manager of Operations at Delivery Hero, our quick commerce team was up for the challenge of learning how to establish a coffee brand customers will love. The team took their time to study in-depth how to design the operation from abroad. This required a rigirous learning process and thorough analysis of the business case.

Taking their newly acquired knowledge, Mustafa and his team set off to Kuwait to put their plan into action. With the right mix of seasoned experience and entrepreneurial quick thinking, the team was able to launch the first Everyday Roastery in Kuwait's Dmart in an impressive amount of time to deliver top-notch coffee at a fast speed. The team did not shy away from embracing unforeseen circumstances, from the difficulties of finding local baristas, to limited time, they went to every length to ensure a successful launch.

From understanding the science behind coffee to creating a global menu and finding creative packaging solutions for delivery, they were able to successfully prove the concept in a very short time in one of our markets by delivering great coffee at lightning speed.

Finding the perfect design

Everyday Roastery was created to cater to everyone's tastes, moods, and preferences. For this purpose, a simple but chic design was chosen, with neutral colors and a clean look.
A few simple design touches, such as the D in 'day' of Everyday Roastery resembling the coffee cup and varying cups for the different days and moods give it that slight whimsical touch: There is a different cup for each day with bottom cup messages that make it fun and joyful for customers to explore the variety of Everyday Roastery. The brand has even been named a finalist by The Drum Awards for Marketing in the Design category.
As advances in quick commerce are made, the availability of Everyday Roastery and its eye-catching design will only continue to expand.
