Contractor to complete repairs to Queen Street Bridge

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that there will be nighttime lane restrictions beginning tomorrow night on northbound and southbound Interstate 83 at the Queen Street (Route 74) bridge spanning the interstate at Exit 16 in York County. These restrictions will be in place so a contractor can remove overhang jacks, spot paint and complete any cleanup work on the bridge.

Weather permitting, work will be performed from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM beginning tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 9. This work will take up to two weeks to complete. The lane restrictions will be in place in one direction at a time.

This may cause delays. Motorists should be alert and watch for stopped or slow-moving traffic.

This work is associated with ongoing repairs to the bridge following multiple vehicle strikes. This work completes all repairs associated with damage caused by the strikes.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this project.
