VIENNA, 19 May (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations (Vienna), Evangelina Lourdes A. Bernas, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Bernas has served in various capacities, among them:
Chair, Board of Trustees, National Museum of the Philippines, Manila (2018-present); Head of Policy, Coral Triangle Initiative, World Wide Fund for Nature, Bali, Indonesia (2007-2012); Director for Strategic Development, Foundation for Information Technology Education & Development, Makati City, Philippines (1998-2007); Programme Officer, Philippine Foundation for Global Concerns, Makati City (1998-2007); Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Senator Gloria Macapagal, Metro Manila, Philippines (1997-1998); and Special Assistant, Office of the Chair, Senior Officials Meeting, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) - Philippines, Manila (1996).
Ms. Bernas holds a Bachelor of Arts (A.B) in Management Economics from Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Philippines and a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., United States.
Ms. Bernas speaks English and Pilipino.
